The mixture looks most advantageous when grown in tall containers, balcony and window boxes, in hanging baskets. The plants form a lush cascade of drooping shoots up to 35 cm long, strewn with many elegant flowers.
Flowering is abundant and long: from June until frost. In garden flower beds, cascading lobelia takes on a creeping form.
It is used in borders and for lining tall annuals.
Grown by seedlings. The seeds are not sealed, because they germinate in the light. The crops are moistened from a spray bottle and covered with glass. Shoots appear in about 10 days, grow slowly.
Seedlings are dived 3 weeks after germination, in groups of 3-4 pieces. Seedlings are planted in open ground from mid-May.
Lobelia is light-loving, moisture-loving, requires light, neutral soils with a low organic content.
